Day 116: Mar 21 - For BabyA

I'm going to AWWW myself and my productive tittahs today! I saw a plea on a message board that a 4 mo old baby's mom died suddenly. He had been exclusively breastfed, so they were looking for donations to help sustain him. The mother was a 34yo single mother, who luckily was living with her parents when she passed away in her sleep. Lucky because now BabyA doesn't have to be uprooted during this time and go to different surroundings. The grandmother had tried to switch him right over to formula, but he did NOT take to it well. His crying just broke his grandmother's heart, and with all that's going on right now, that was just too much for them. With all of the breastmilk they've been given, they'll be able to slowly transition him over.

I was able to give him 180 ounces from my freezer stash. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into pumping all of that, but I'm so glad it's going to a great cause. I received this email from the contact person last Friday: "The family is so grateful for any milk given to sustain BabyA, there is a donor who has given milk that he will be starting on today, yours would be his 2nd donor milk. The Lord has provided 3 or 4 other Moms to donate Breast milk, one of whom lost her baby this week to a heart condition. The family is so overwhelmed with the generosity of people like yourself."

What an amazing feeling!

Day 115: Mar 20 - It's picture day at school!

I just want the record to show that DADDY picked out Katie's outfit today for school pics. ;-)

Aunt Jane must have tuckered Katie out, because today her school sheet said she was very tired and slept a lot. Unfortunately her teachers don't always follow the "let sleeping babies lie" addage and they decided to wake her up for her class picture. She was NOT a happy girl! I guess the photographer stopped by several times, and Katie was napping each time, so they'd wait a little bit longer. Finally, the photographer really had to get going, so they made the decision to wake Katie up so that they could get a class picture. The pictures here just don't do justice to how red and grumpy her face looked in the original. At first I was upset because she looked so awful in it, but then the more I looked at the picture, the more I laughed.

I will say, there were seven kids in the picture, and only three were looking at the camera, and Katie was amongst the three. Girl does know how to work a camera.

KATIE'S SCHOOL PICTURES:

Day 114: Mar 19 - Cuttin' classes already

Today were all DaddyCam shots, and proof that this whole daycare thing is just as hard on him as it is on me.

Here's the text I sent him: "OMG, how adorable is today's outfit!???! I hope she still has it on when I get home tonight. That's one of my faves."
His response: "Yes was really cute today. It was hard leaving her this morning. She was lying in her crib smiling at me as I walked away....."

Katie got to cut out of school early today because Aunt Jane stopped by to visit so there wasn't much on her school sheet. Aunt Jane trumphs bubbles and singing any day though!

Day 113: Mar 18 - I think I'm going to need a bigger cubicle!

Daddy said Katie's teachers wanted to see her infamous LadyBug outfit, so we made sure she wore it today to school. Notice the mess in the background of that picture? It's like a tornado hits her room every morning as Daddy gets her ready. ;-)

I stopped at a consignment sale last night and picked up some more bottles and other baby items, which is making this whole pumping at work thing a wee bit easier. I also ran by CVS and picked up the pictures I ordered. I ordered 54 pictures of Katie for Daddy and I, and the first order of business this morning was plastering my office cubicle with them. I think that'll make getting through the day a lot easier to look over and stare at my precious baby.

Katie's school schedule today said, "Bubbles, bubbles everywhere, we caught bubbles today! YAY!"

Day 112: Mar 17 - SHE GIGGLED!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what made Katie so grumpy first thing at school this morning, but she's clearly unhappy in that first picture. She couldn't have been pinched on St. Paddy's day, because I made sure she was dressed in green head to toe.

She was in a MUCH better mood when she got back home at the end of the day though. Maybe it was the adorable hat she worked on at school that perked her up. She also spent the day talking about St. Patricks' day and looking around her classroom for green objects.

In the evening, she got a bath, and in the middle, she let out the most joyous sound I've ever in my whole life heard. She giggled for the first time! I mean an all out giggle. She's been working up to it, and she's been close, but this was a full on, let loose giggle. What a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful sound!

Day 111: Mar 16 - Which one's mine?

Do I dare admit that I walked in to daycare tonight and it took me a minute to recognize my child? She was lying on the mat and she had a different outfit on that she had never worn before and well, there were just so many other babies in that room that it took me a second to recognize her. Once I got close and saw her break out the biggest grin ever for Mommy, I knew the blob in purple was mine.

Katie spent her day at school searching for dinosaur eggs in the classroom and playing with soft blocks. They also sang the "I love you" song again.

Day 110: Mar 15 - She's just so freakin' cute!!!

Is she not the cutest baby ever? How can you not look at a picture of her smiling and not smile yourself. How can a picture of her sweetly napping on Daddy not melt your heart?!?!

We spent the day recovering from our party last night and getting ourselves ready for heading back to the grind tomorrow.
