Day 83: Feb 16 - Meeting the "original Katie" born on 11/26

After spending the morning being absolutely adorable for Miss Julie, we headed off to our gym playdate. We walked for most of the time and then spent the last remaining minutes kicking on the surfboard and hanging out with the other mommies. Katie even piqued the interest of one of the boys there. He came over to show her his truck while he checked her out.

For supper, we met up with some of my local friends, so that they could meet Katie and Miss Julie. We had a yummy dinner at Pei Wei, and then Katie got passed around the table so that everyone could hold her. She was a little fussier than normal, and I felt so bad that she was crying in the arms of non-moms. I always feel like when she does that, she's extra birth control for them. ;-) I'd hate for my angel to be the reason why someone doesn't want to have their own child. Wierd fear, I know, but it wouldn't be me if it wasn't.

Day 82: Feb 15 - Miss Julie's here to visit!!!

Katie woke up in such a great mood this morning, because she knew Mommy's BFF from Boston was flying in for a few days. We made sure to get all primped up to meet her at the airport. From there, we headed up north to meet some of Julie's coworkers for supper. Then, we headed back home. Katie was pretty worn out from such a busy day, so she zonked out on Julie's arms.

Day 81: Feb 14 - It seemed like a good idea at the time...

I thought, how cute would it be for Katie to sign her own card and to pay tribute to her size by adding a hand print to the card. Well what color represents VD but red, right? Lemme just say, hand print + red ink = freakish looking addition to a card! hahahaha

She then went to whip up a lunch for him (thanks Trader Joes)

Then she waited, with card in hand, for Daddy to come in the room

JACKPOT, so worth the time and effort!

And how did Daddy repay us for our tokens of affection and show his love for us? Why taking us to Home Depot to pick out paint swatches [his idea!]

Day 80: Feb 13 - The entertainment continues...

The morning started off by playing with the video camera from my laptop. Smiling and cooing at it wasn't enough, so she reached out and grabbed it and grasped it firmly for awhile.

The afternoon was occupied with the owls again. They were getting along pretty well for awhile until she started fussing. I'm guessing it was a minor tiff. You know how fickle young'uns can be.

At night, daddy took over the entertaining. Looks like he's trying to get her into racing early. A redneck in training!

Day 79: Feb 12 - Oh the entertainment she gets!

OK, she is absolutely precious every morning when she wakes up. Her tiny grunts and peeps. I think I wake her up faster because I keep kissing her, I find her so adorable!

Today was gorgeous outside, so I put Katie in the Ergobaby carrier and we went on a little walk around the area. It was so nice to get out and get some fresh air! I’m excited Spring is finally here!

We opened up all the windows to let some of that air inside, and I worked on mopping the floors [oops, sorry, should have warned you to sit down before dropping the bombshell that I did a domestic activity, my bad!] while Katie was once again completely enthralled with the owls from her swing.

Daddy has outdone himself again in his efforts to A) entertain Katie so that she doesn’t fuss and B) torture one of the cats.

Day 78: Feb 11 - My chubby chick!

So we found out that Katie's date yesterday weighs about the same as Katie, yet he's twice her age! Good thing we're being consistent with our Gym Playdate!

Day 75: Feb 8 - Playtime with Daddy

After such a busy day yesterday, we decided we'd spend the day playing and being all cute for Daddy.

I want to do a follow up to a post from several months ago also. I was working on my blog one night and wrote that I was watching Family Guy. By the time I got back to that entry to publish it, I couldn't remember what specifically I was writing about it, so I just said that it cracked me up. Well we were watching it tonight and lo and behold, that same episode came on, and it triggered why I was writing that entry. It was an episode where Lois is concerned when Stewie’s teeth cause her pain during breastfeeding. Brian suggests that Lois begin weaning Stewie, to which Stewie objects. He becomes desperate for his milk, going as far as sucking off another mother and milking Lois. Later on, Stewie finally does achieve freedom from Lois's breast milk, but Lois, loving her new breast size, forces Stewie to continue the feeding under the guise of "bonding".

Here's a really low quality video, but it's all I could find. If you fast forward to 2:40, you'll see the part that cracked me up the most.
