Luckily she seems to be doing better from the meds. She goes in for further testing in two weeks. When I told Grammy about it, apparently I suffered from infections for years as a baby. The doctors kept telling her that I was "lazy" and maybe if she offered me stickers I'd stop leaking. When she finally pushed the issue enough, that's when they found the infection and then scheduled me for surgery! Not sure I'm strong enough to handle it if it comes to that. Man this motherhood gig is HARD!
Day 169: May 13 - Roll over...roll over..
Someone thinks she's hot stuff and can sleep on her belly at night! UGH! I was a mess last night continually going in there to check on her breathing. I was rolling her over the first few times, and then I realized how futile that was. Who told her she could grow up!!?!???! When I got the call from Daddy that she rolled over the first time, I told him he needed to duct tape that girl to the floor. I'm not ready for this!!!!

Day 170: May 14 - Daddy's girl
Day 168: May 12 - Smiling Sweetie
Look at those grins! Can't beat an adorable smile from an adorable sweet baby girl!!

Day 167: May 11 - The Mother's Day aftermath
Dear coworkers, stop freakin asking me how my Mother's Day went! It sucked! Ok, you happy? If friggin sucked and by all of you asking about it, I want to cry! Yes I understand it was my first Mother's Day, and it should have been special, but I unfortunately married a man who says things like "but every day is Mother's Day" just like he says, "but every day is Valentine's Day". Now quit asking me before I end up sobbing! [FYI, I will cut anyone who attempts to post in here defending my husband or my coworkers. I'm that upset!]

On a different note, poor Katie had a UTI that caused her fever. We got the test results back from last week's traumatic doctor's appointment. My little sweet girl had a UTI. She's got to finish up this round of antibiotic and then she'll be put on another med. We also have to go in for a renal u/s and some other test.....which involves another catheter. Poor little girl!!
How can that face not bring a smile to your face though. Too adorable!! I also got my gift from Katie from daycare. She's so thoughtful at her young age!
Day 166: May 10 - My first official Mother's day
Today is my first official Mother's Day, and what a beautiful and adorable baby I have. It's surreal to think that I have a child now, and that I've been blessed enough to have such a perfect one.
It wasn't quite the day I had hoped for though. Why am I doing laundry and making the bed at 9:45pm on Mother's day? because these things don't happen on their own. Daddy's chillin' on the couch watching TV after waking up from his nap.
What gets me through the day is realizing that I am now someone's mother, and how happy, and scary, and overwhelming, and how amazing that all is. It makes me appreciate my own mother even more. How on earth did she manage it with four children when just one is kicking my butt. Good thing she's so stinkin' cute and so well behaved. She takes it easy on me, and I'm grateful for that! I love that little lump of love!!

Day 165: May 9 - Swimsuit Sweetie
In the morning, Daddy and I got some heavenly massages. Afterwards, we did some shopping. Things were find and dandy until we hit The Home Depot. It's Daddy's heaven, but Katie could not contain her boredom. Luckily we stopped for some lunch at a local restaurant and writing on the tablecloth with crayons was divine!!
I scored some free swim floaties from CraigsList, which will come in handy this summer and will go along with the swimming suit we picked up today. Watch out Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models!
Tonight, envy my life if you must.....but I'm off to The Walmart on this hopping Saturday night to do some unattended and unencumbered shopping!

Day 164: May 8 - All the cool kids own wagons!
Daddy went and picked up the wagon I bought off of Craigslist while Katie and I hung out together. She is going to LOVE her "new" red wagon and rolling around the neighborhood in it. That's if I can find where I laid my baby! Love the ladybug outfit that matches the crib sheet. Cutest camoflage I've ever seen!
