Day 76: Feb 9 - Working out is exhausting!
Katie and I headed out to our Gym Playdate and spent the hour walking around the gym with our neighbor Tammy. It was such a workout, that we came home and after bathing took a nice long nap!!

Day 77: Feb 10 - Katie went on her first date
Katie had her first date today....with a boy....twice her age! We went mall walking, so they were definitely supervised on their date. I swear she looked bigger than him though! I think he was too skeered of her plumpness to make too many advances. ;-)
Disclaimer: Yes, I know, my daughter is wearing the same adorable onesie that she had in her pictures from yesterday. In my defense, we put on that outfit after a bath yesterday, and she didn't spit up in it, and we took it off after our mall walking exercise outing today to take another bath.

Day 74: Feb 7 - Daddy's a Rockstar!
I came back from running errands in the morning and fed Katie. As I was looking down at her while burping her, I saw a big red blotch on her temple. Oh great, now what in the heck has your father done to your head, Katie? Oh wait, oops, that's Mommy's lipgloss from kissing you so much. My bad! haha
We had such a great time. I was fun to be at a baby shower now that I’m “on the other side”. ;-) I was eying her presents and thinking, oh yeah, you’re gonna love that. Oh yeah, you’re gonna NEED that! I think the mothers are definitely ready for Kathleen’s baby, because they had a good time doting on Katie. In fact, the MIL is such a saint and held Katie the entire two hours. Of course, my sweet girl was zonked out in her arms, but still, that’s a lot of weight to hold up for that long. Perhaps her cuteness made the load lighter. ;-)
After the shower, we met up with some of my friends at a local restaurant for supper. It was great seeing them again. There was some major competition on who got to hold her also. There is just something so enticing about an adorable chubby cheeked girl.
We’re trying some new sleep training techniques, so we had to cut that even early and come home to get started. Our neighbors across the street were having a Chili Cookoff, so we stopped by for a few minutes to say hey. They pulled out their Guitar Hero game, and I envisioned us as living on Wisteria Lane [from Desperate Housewives] with our own neighborhood garage band. Daddy started off on the guitar, but when the band got booed off the stage, he switched to vocals. Listen to the short video below for proof that perhaps they should have left him on guitar. ;-)

Day 73: Feb 6 - SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!
GUESS WHO SSTN....IN HER OWN ROOM!!!! My big girl did!! I'm sure this will never happen again, but by Gawd was it glorious that it happened at least once!!! The first night in her crib and she slept from 11p-8a. She only woke up briefly at 3am for a wardrobe change [aka diaper change].
When I went to get my sweetie up, she was smiling and cooing. See the video below for proof of said adorableness.
Later on in the morning, we couldn't resist stretching out in the sun with Bob and Packer. It was hard to get the perfect shot with the bright sun and the dark fur though.
We went to Walmart in the afternoon, and Katie got her first brush with NASCAR fame by posing in front of one of the cars for a picture, you know...for the blog. ;-)

Day 72: Feb 5 - Supervised napping
Continuing on with this week's theme of chillin' around the house, Katie and I tried to get away with minimal housework and maximum snuggling. Of course we were supervised on all of this snuggling and napping by the master himself, Bob Cat! ;-)

Day 71: Feb 4 - MEH!
Katie Bug is soooooo in love with her Daddy! When he came into the room to say good morning to her, she just smiled and smiled and smiled! She adores her old man! ;-) Of course, I look down at her and she's sticking her tongue out! I laughed and she got a big 'ol grin on her face! She is too funny!
We didn't get out of bed until 10ish today, so we missed most of last night's snow. It's a good thing the schools were delayed by two hours because almost every remnant of snow was gone by then. Katie and I did find a few flakes to get a picture of....you know, for the blog.
In the afternoon, I was actually able to get some cleaning done in the kitchen because Katie decided maybe her swing wasn't so bad afterall. She stared at the owls for the longest time before finally drifting off into sleep.
After all of these sweet stories, what's up with the title of "MEH" you may ask? Well "MEH" is Katie's signal that she needs food....STAT! I missed capturin the perfect one on video by mere seconds, but the video below will show you a few longer, more drawn out versions. Even when she cries, she's cute....sometimes. ;-)

Day 70: Feb 3 - The transition begins
Today's goal was to get Katie to nap in her crib so that we could start transitioning her to sleep there at night. It was a great theory that just did not make it to reality. We did discover, however that she is completely mesmerized by Sadie the Seahorse. She sat in there for quite awhile staring at it while smacking on her paci.
During naptime, we also tried to implement CIO [cry it out]. After five minutes, Mommy was still going strong and was pleased that Katie had finally stopped crying! Of course the joy was short lived when I realized it wasn't my awesome sleep training techniques but rather the snugly sanctity of Daddy's arms that made her stop crying.
